Frame: A combination of solid American Ash timber, rubberwood and plywood with American Ash veneer.
Finish: Natural low VOC oil
Seat/base cushion foam: Multilayer polyurethane foam with a upcycled foam and polyester fibre duvet wrap
Cushion fill: Recycled foam and polyester fibre

Care Instructions

Our fabric is hardwearing and easy to clean, a simple vacuuming to remove dust and dirt on a regular basis will help keep it looking clean. If a more thorough clean is needed, simply unzip the covers and remove the inserts to wash the covers. Wash your covers at a maximum of 30 degrees celsius and do not tumble dry. Full washing instructions can be found on the cover care label.

Steer clear from any harsh cleaning products and wipe up spills quickly with an absorbent cloth or paper towel.

As with any piece of furniture, extended exposure in direct sunlight may cause discolouration to the fabric and the timber over time.

Details: Next-day delivery in Auckland Metro and North Shore as long as the order is placed before the cut-off time which is 12:00 noon a day before. Christchurch & Wellington is usually delivered once a week from our Auckland.

Warranty

How will my sofa bed arrive?

Your sofa bed will come in the following four boxes (dimensions are in mm):

  • Back and arms: 2040mm (l) x 860mm (w) x 230mm (h) - 31kg 
  • Base:  (1960mm (l) x 990mm (w) x 110mm (h) - 43kg
  • Cushions: 900mm (l) x 490mm x (w) x 490 (h) - 30kg
  • Covers: 560mm (l) x 340mm x 160mm (h) - 5kg

Please note, the covers will come separately to the pillow inserts, so you’ll need to put the covers on when the sofa bed arrives. To help with this, we have prepared an assembly instruction video.

How much weight can the Slideaway Sofa Bed withstand?

The Slideaway Sofa Bed has been designed to be lightweight but incredibly strong & durable.

Your sofa bed weighs approximately 105kg in total & can withstand up to 300kg in weight.

How long will my sofa bed cushions take to expand?

All of the cushions on your Slideaway Sofa Bed have been compressed. Once opened the cushions can take up to 48 hours to completely recover. We suggest plumping up the side and the back cushions by hand for a quicker recovery time.

Where is the Slideaway Sofa Bed made?

The Slideaway Sofa Bed is designed by our in-house product and design teams, and made to the highest quality by our trusted manufacturing partner in Hangzhou, China. It took about two years for our team to design and develop the product through multiple prototypes and user testing sessions.

What is the Slideaway Sofa Bed made of?

The Slideaway Sofa has a frame built from a combination of sustainably sourced solid American Ash timber and plywood with veneer to ensure it will be with you for years to come. All timber on the product is finished with a Natural Low VOC oil. 

The seat cushions are made from multilayered foams to achieve the optimal level of comfort and support, wrapped in a plush memory foam duvet wrap. The cushions are made from a mixture of recycled memory foam and polyester fibre. Loose cushions on the sofa bed are filled with recycled memory foam and fibre fill.

Our covers are made from a 100% polyester fabric which is durable yet soft and inviting.

  • Frame: A combination of solid American Ash timber and plywood with American Ash veneer.

How can I recycle the packaging?

To dispose of your packaging, you can add the cardboard to your recycling or compost bin.

    Looks great!

    Originally I was tossing up between Eva Slideaway and another competing brand. My focus was more on plush comfort but after waiting a month the other brand wasn't able to deliver and I couldn't wait another month. Since this was my close second, I decided to order and they delivered it the next day.

    And I was so surprised! It comes in 4 boxes and used QR code for video instructions. I did it myself as I was impatient but highly recommend having help as it makes putting in the bolts so much easier.

    Like other reviews say, its firm. I currently have it permanently in day bed mode with a thin foam topper under a doona for some added comfort. Its perfect now!

    My friend has the other brand sofa bed and I much prefer how mine is off the ground. Its also stylish and great for movie nights. Only draw back is that the wooden arms are very long. So if a tall person tries to sleep on it in bed mode, they will need to sleep diagonally or right on the edge. Otherwise, no regrets!

    Perfect post-op recovery perch

    It's 2 weeks since I had major surgery and I have been so grateful to have had the Eva Slideaway sofa bed as my rest and recovery spot. The sofa was delivered so promptly (arrived within 3 days of ordering) and was easy to assemble. It has meant that I haven't been confined to my bedroom while I recover from my operation. Resting comfortably with a view of the sky and trees from our spare room has made my recovery so much more pleasant.
